PREVENTÓRIO SANTA TEREZINHA -  Belém, Para
The Preventório was founded in 1948 to aid children whose parents were ill with tuberculosis. Today the centre provides for over 180 children aged between 3 and 7, not necessarily of ill parents, but children from underprivileged families requiring assistance and care during the day.  The centre, in partnership with the state education department, provides a primary school, serves 4 meals a day, and offers a wide variety of ‘extra curricular’ activities to its members and other children in the community.
